Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

Entitled this research is “The Analytical study the parents’ caring as appeared in Mangala sutta”, which were three objectives for using as following : 1) to study the concepts about the parents ‘s caring as appeared in Mangala sutta,   2) to study Dhamma that concerned the parents ‘ caring, and 3) to study the analytical value of parents ‘ caring as appeared in Mangala sutta. Documentary study was used in this research.

The result found that:

1) The idea for the parents ‘caring as appeared in Mangala sutta as following :        1) physical caring as that we should return the caring to them , assisting to do their business, maintaining the family' s reputation, to be behaving rightiously as their heir, make merit for dedicate to them after deceased. 2) Mental caring such as advice them to be faith on Buddhism, take precepts, to charity, and to be wisdom. 

2) Dhamma that related for supporting and conflicting the parents’ caring as followed: 1) Dhamma for promote the parents’ caring by wholesome deed as Katãññükatavedità), (gratitude) ; 4 Brahmavihàra (the four Divine States ), 4 Iddhipàda (the Four Paths of Accomplishment); 4 Saïgahavatthu ( objects of sympathy); 4 Gharàvàsa-dhamma (virtues for a good household life); 6  directions ; 6 Gàrava (respect); and Samajãvità (balanced livelihood);     2) principle which conflicting the parents’ caring named unwholesome as 3 Akusalamola (unwholesome) 6 Apàyamukha (cause of ruin); 4 Agati (prejudice);Pamàdadhamma (heedlessness);and 9 Màna (conceit).

3) The value for parents’ caring as appeared Mangala sutta such as 1) value for own-self by burden the duties to their parents who have done, 2) value to the family burden the duties of parents and children in the family,3) value to society is take the Buddha teaching as principle on faith, precept, charity and wisdom for Thai development.
